The conventional explanation for gravity, that it is caused by 'masses of matter' leaves unexplained the anti-gravity effect and the ability of hydrogen to achieve an 'orbital energy state' in Earth's gravitational field. What means of propulsion does Hydrogen employ to achieve 'orbital escape velocity'. Hydrogen rises not due to some mechanical matter based form of 'propulsion' but rather because it exists in a certain energy state, the 'anti-gravity state', or the 'orbital escape energy state'. Call it whatever you will. However this behavior, as well as the total inability of the Smith Hydrogen cloud to 'warp space-time', does suggest that gravitation is itself an energy state and that the cause of gravitational fields is something other than 'masses of matter'.
