THIS PAGE IS (always) UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

I thought I would open this section on newspaper gifs by mirroring an opening bit I have included on my story page, just to let people know how I felt about all this...

The following story describes my experiences during a 'UFO wave' (sightings that lasted for close to three and half months) over the town of Melville, Saskatchewan in 1975. Before I begin I thought I would mention that It was fun. It was the most glorious and exciting and interesting experience of my life to be living in Melville during that UFO wave, and I really thoroughly enjoyed it. I was really niave though and the first few disappointments are the worse. I just could never understand why people could not just enjoy and celebrate that experience thus experiencing it the same way I did, but instead it quickly became complicated and knotty and thorny. Still is I guess...The newspaper gif section begins here -->

On this page, you will find links to newspaper gifs, and at towards the bottom of the page links to the testimony of RCM Police officers and EMO officers who followed these objects for up to two hours.

This page is always under construction and I plan to scan just about every newspaper in southern Saskatchewan before I get through. As of November 14th (when the archive reopens) I will begin scanning three more south Saskatchewan newspapers, as the microfilms have just arrived. I am also in the process of converting the gifs to text files using OCR software, which would make for an easier read. This should be done shortly. Check back every now and then if you are interested in these sorts of things... I currently have on order the Esterhazy, Yorkton, and Moossimin newspapers, and I have access to the Star Pheonix and Regina Leader Post.

I recently recovered a letter I wrote about these events in 1974 that was published in CUFOR (gifs of the pages are on my story page). Click here to read the text of the letter.

As I mentioned on my story page I first saw these craft at Banff Park, Alberta, and then they followed me home to Melville, Saskatchewan, and then were seen for months over Melville, and South western Saskatchewan.

The Melville advance was a very evangelical Christian newspaper during the seventies. Every issue seemed to feature a church or an evangelist from the far right wing. One memorable interview with one of these far right evangelists was titled 'What the World needs now is discipline.' (It seemed to be a mocking piece on the song 'What the world needs now is love, sweet love', something that provoked that evangelist to wrath I suppose). The editors also mocked 'wifey' and 'woman's lib' and claimed that teenage pregnancy was all part of a communist plot started in 1919 (ending that editorial with the remark 'frightening, isn't it'). I just mention this to point out how far right, and how evangelical Christian that newspaper actually was (I thought I remembered many articles in that particular paper, but there were only two, for this very reason) My experiences took place in 1974, and there were no articles in the Melville Advance for 1974, and two brief mentions in 1975 (the after effects of the events of 1974, or the reappearance of those UFOs in 1975.)

As I was scanning those microfilms, a flood of memories came back and I remembered just how angry I was with that Melville Advance newspaper for stubbornly refusing to print reports.

Around the same time I was experiencing these objects, a farmer in Langenburg, also in South eastern Saskatchewan, reported the (now famous in this province) Langenburg, UFO. (GIF 87kb)

related articles, the objects return and were reported by a number of people in langenburg.

the following event took place about 5 minutes away from where I currently live, in Martensville.

The following are links to an offsite location that contains testimony of RCM Police officers from southern Saskatchewan during the time these events were taking place in Melville. I remember these events very well, for I thought to myself at the time, now that RCMP officers are reporting these objects people will have to believe us. I will be posting newspaper gifs over the course of the next month relevant to these occurences, but for now I direct you to the following web pages. Note that the object was visible for up to two hours, and that the officers were tracking these things for a considerable amount of time. As I said, these events I remember very well.

Finally a page about those horrifying roars I described on my testimony page. Apparently this has been happening here and there, and if you check the dates, you will see that this is recent (this year.) The first link is to a particular story and there are even more links to 'roars' in sky on the following links page. By the way, not all those roarings that might be heard up there could be Yahweh. Sometimes it could be a devil as well, just keep that in mind.

archives of Alberta UFO report (mass sightings, strange 'booms' in the sky, many reports of police officers sighting these objects, interesting page)
