In what I assume is a political move to shore up war support among the religious right rank and file, congressmen and apparently members of the cabinet and the president as well, will be holding a special closed door prayer meeting to, according to TBN, 'get down on their knees before God.'

In a story getting little mainstream media coverage (that I can locate) in about 1 hour (as I am writing this) at 5 pm eastern members of congress, the senate, and according to TBN the president and the cabinet will join with Christians accross America in going 'down on their knees' before God. Press has been excluded from the capital rotunda for the event, which has received only big time coverage in the christian media outlets.

Congress to Gather for National Day of Reconciliation



CBN.com - On December 4, 2001, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Congressman and Senators will gather together in the rotunda of the U.S. Capitol for a private and voluntary assembly "…to humbly seek the blessings of Providence for forgiveness, reconciliation, unity, and charity for all people of the United States…" --Senate Concurrent Resolution 83 Although this gathering is for Representatives and Senators only, (Congressional staff and members of the media will not be admitted) millions of Christians around the country and the world will be gathering in churches and in homes to pray for our national leaders as we humble ourselves, turn from our ways and seek the Lord God Almighty. "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

You will notice a few things about the language of the resolution. First they will be praying for all kinds of godly blessings on America. Not Afghanistan, you note. Second they are praying for 'reconciliation' and 'unity' in the war effort (of course, what else is going on now). This suggests, I think properly, that the religious right is becoming 'disunified' and 'unreconciled' to the war, a situation that can only get worse as religious protests increase. I have noticed the religious rigtht begging for money for the last month. Apparently they are getting hit hard by the almost half a million lay offs a month this fall and all those other hundreds of thousands of layoffs over the summer, for their language is such as 'when times are the toughest for you, that is when you most need the 'blessing' of sending money to preachers.' You see, sending money to a preacher is a way to get 'blessed by God'. Or so they say, and they have been saying stuff like that a lot lately and begging for money constantly. That combined with the call to 'reconciliation' and 'unity' in the war effort, and the symbolism involved in the politics of getting those churches mobilized to prayer for the nations war leaders at this time, and we can see symbolic political manouvering taking place if we know a little, observe a little, and read between the lines....

Now we are to pray for 'repentance' and 'turn from our wicked ways'. Our wicked ways do not, of course, include supporting Israeli expansion into Palestinian lands or the bull dozing of Palestinian homes, a year long tirade of jet attacks and helicopter gunship attacks, and a long trail of killings, the balance sheet of which is titlted heavily in favor of the state as an oppressor and killing machine, the state being armed with a lot more than rocks and sticks after all, so you would expect that. Our wicked ways do not include preachers repenting from lying, and does not include repenting from putting out Jewish extremist propaganda. No. Apparently not. Just the other night I was listening, dumbfounded and speechless, as Christian television in prime time featured some religious zealot Jewish settler who 'informed' the viewing Christian public that 'not one home was taken from Palestinians' and that 'it is the big lie of the Arabs that Jews take Palestinian land.' Now when Hertzog sent rabbis into the 'promised land' they returned to tell him, 'the bride is beautiful but she is already married.' You know, all those Palestinians were living there, what with most of the Jewish people having been not around for about 2,000 years. Hertzog, the story goes, then gave up on Zionism, and began planning for a multi-ethnic multi-cultural state, but his plans went nowhere when the Zionists burned down Palestinian homes, and seized land and well, you can see that ghetto to this very day where they wound up. Then, to add insult to former injury, the Jewish state once again seized more land, the west bank and the Gaza in 67, and have been bulldozing homes, confiscating land, reducing water rations, creating enclaves cut off from each other like reservations, and then magnanimously offering to make those little surrounded cut off Bantustans into a so called 'Palestinian state', which won't of course really be a state but sort of a kind of 'autonomous zone' where Palestinians can pretend to have a state while Israeli soldiers Patrol the surrounding areas. So while we a praying for 'repentance' and 'turning from our wicked ways' to 'heal the land' that probably does not include repenting from all that deliberate and shocking perjury.



You see the Bible, as interpreted by those 'prophets' clearly teaches that the Arab nations are demonic. As it says in Deuteronomy, 'in the lands that are nearby (Israel) you must not spare a living soul.' The Greater Israel is to expand by slaughter until it reaches Iraq. According to 'interpretation' the Palestinians are part of 'God and Magog' and once again according to some weird interpretations of this that and the other, the attack of 'Gog and Magog' against the pure virgin of Israel could be imminent at any moment, this being something that happens'early in the tribulation period' and is already underway really. The signs are all their. Actually, I use the term 'weird interpretations' because if you read Revelations, as I am sure those prophets do, well what is says there is that Christ returns, and reigns on earth for one thousand years. Then, after the 'one thousand year millenium' something referred to as 'Gog and Magog' launch an attack. So, rather than being 'imminent' and rather than seeing those Palestinians as the 'shock troops' of 'Gog and Magog' it would seem that such things need not concern anyone being more than a thousand years away at the very best after all. Shall we be repenting of this kind of dredging up of Torah genocide policies and twisted perversely forced interpretations of scriptures to tag those Palestinians as 'Gog and Magog' and the type of people who, as Deuteronomy and other such books recommend' 'drive out all the natives of the land. You shall take possession of their land and settle it....Put the natives to the slaughter without giving any quarter and burn their town down....' And so and so on....shall we be turning from our wicked ways here or shall we be bombing the crap out of Arafat for the actions of Hamas, playing into the hands of Hamas by the way, who don't mind seeing the situation become even more polarized and violent. While we are at it why doesn't someone shoot Clinton in 'retaliation' for Timothy McVeigh. Or bomb Sharon for the violent (constantly underreported ignored attacks and violations of extremist Jewish settlers). As I mentioned above those Jewish religious fanatics like their Christian counterparts are terrible liars. Shall we be repenting of all this. Probably not. you know Israel could have gotten a lot more terrorism done to them that what they did. Same with the USA. That both of them actually had so little terrorism done to them in context (when you consider the persistent state terrorism practiced by both of them and the lop sided death toll in favor of the state on the balance sheet), well that they suffered so little terrorism over the course of time is to me the most remarkable thing. You know oppression is one of the seed beds of violence. When for example, the United States topples democratically elected socialist goverments or sends 'contras' after them and does all those other dirty tricks they are sending a message that states that peaceful change is not possible-only violence will do, and in the minds of some, only violence against the USA will ever do the trick. When Israel and their religious allies play all those dirty propaganda tricks like the crap I have been seeing lately (one female Jewish settler appeared on Christian television a few weeks ago to spread around the lie that 'Palestinians' were basically an export from surrounding Arab countries-just what Christians, I am sure, would expect from 'Gog and Magog' after all. They should just go back to Arabia. That's where they belong. As for them squatting on Jewish land for two thousand years, well its time to leave homes and fields and heritage, and just get out, pack it in. Now all I can say is that I am glad that Jewish people did not live in my home town thousands of years ago, because the idea of getting kicked out of my house and told to go back to (pick one, 'France, Belgium, china, etc etc) well that idea seems unjust to me. Will we be 'turning from our wicked ways'? Based on the decidedly hawkish and violent propaganda assaults and the deliberate lies I have been hearing on Christian television lately, combined of course with all that obviously twisted 'prophecy' well no we won't be repenting and turning from our wicked ways.

And then their is hypocrisy. We will be repenting from that. And believe me, no one does hypocrisy like North Americans, and in particular Americans. I use the term 'North Americans' because you see a lot of it in Canada to. The big hypocrisy is demanding that people 'accept Jesus' and 'obey the Lord' such feudal language being the leftover remnants of the sorry past of the Christian church, one of the great power structures of the feudal age (not to mention the principle cause of what came to be known as 'the dark ages', a time when you didn't want to learn anything since the truth, as history shows, did a lot of damage to Christians myths).

Now there is what the Bible says about 'Gog and Magog' (no, not the Palestinians, and not right now, but after the return of Christ and a thousand years). What the Bible says really doesn't matter. And what 'Jesus Christ' said doesn't matter either. And while the political propaganda of the Bible certainly encourages blind dogmatism prophets did not, so you do have a choice you know.

"Burn you whole offerings (in Leviticus) and eat the flesh yourselves for on the day that I brought your ancestors out of Egypt I gave them no instructions or commands concerning whole offerings and sacrifices...but they proceeded ahead with their own plans...truth has perished from their lips. It is no longer heard in the land....Lying and not truth has held sway in the land...It is not by truth that they triumph in the land...How can you say, 'We are wise, for we have the Torah', when, actually, the lying pen of the scribes has had it falsified. Their leaders are dismayed, they have been trapped and snared, but they rejected the Word of YAHWEH, so what kind of wisdom did they have." The words of Jeremiah, mostly the 7th and 8th chapters

Now the teaching that the Bible is 'infallible' is an egregious and downright hypocritical lie, as even the prophet of the Bible quoted above testifies. This doctrine is political and social propaganda, not truth, and certainly sacred, and when you consider the abominations of the Bible, you can see what a sinfully evil thing it is to deceive people about the Bible. Shall we be repenting. Shall we be 'turning from our wicked ways' so that God can 'heal the land.' I have been a protestor since 1996 and I have not seen any sign or indication that this is going to happen, but rather I am constantly resisted by those who are more powerful than I and thus in the position to abuse their trust to further their own personal agenda.

The Bible encourages war fare and truly genocidal slaughter and dispossesion, ethnic cleansing, propaganda assaults against enemies of the vilest sort (you know, like what happened to the Jews in the second world war, when they wound up sampling 'devil propaganda' themselves). As one of the anti-war prophets put it, they do all their wicked deeds and then they have a prayer meeting before God, which leads me to believe that the more things change the more they stay the same...

And then there is the words that Jesus Christ should have said. Now, we are not going to 'repent' and 'turn from our wicked ways' all great prayer days aside. So, therefore, as in the case of that perverted 'Gog and Magog' prophecy I mentioned above, it will be neccesary to turn 'Jesus Christ' upside down as well, don't you think...what the religious right wishes Christ had said (but never mind that he didn't)...

"Blessed are the rich, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who are without a care and comfortable, for they shall be comforted even more. Blessed are the powerful and agressive, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for war and unrighteousness, for they shall be satisfied. Blessed are the ruthless, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the hard of heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the warmakers, for they shall be called children of God. Blessed are those who are not persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when everyone speaks well of you and support everything you do and utter all sorts of praises for you. Rejoice and be glad, for so your ancestors treated the prophets. But woe to you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you for so your ancestors treated every false prophets."
