Out of season hurricane brews in Caribbean
On June the 1st the tongue of hot water persists along the East Coast (see below - it was this 'tongue' that first caught my attention and made me begin a hurricane watch...). During the evening of June 1st, a hole is visible on the Satellite imagery, having just appeared over the last few hours. Such a circular hole is usually indicative of a low pressure system and thus perhaps a tropical storm and then a hurricane. It remains to be seen what becomes of this 'hole' but you can notice it in the center of the clouds at the lower left of the Satellite image...

On the Tuesday after Memorial day, The Weather Channel reported that "Low pressure has developed a little over 200 miles east of Daytona Beach, Florida. The low is moving slowly to the west at around 5 mph and may turn toward the west-northwest on Wednesday. If thunderstorms continue to erupt near the center of this low, a tropical depression may form over the next 24 hours ... All interests along the coasts of northeast Florida, Georgia and South Caroliona should closely monitor this system."
The news on this disturbance in the Caribbean was reported on the Weather Channel site on Memorial day, as follows : "Forecasters and holiday vacationers are eyeing a tropical disturbance in the Caribbean. It formed more than a week before the Atlantic hurricane season officially begins. Stacy Stewart, hurricane specialist at the National Hurricane Center in Miami, says the low-pressure system might develop even more over Memorial Day weekend, but it is unlikely to become a hurricane. "
In what I find a very interesting development an early out of season hurricane is brewing off the American coast. The only question on my mind this morning (Friday, May 24th, 2002) is which direction this thing will be going. Right now it is apparently stationary and building up strength, but its future direction is unclear. The Computer model is suggesting North-NorthEast, which would further suggest Washington, D.C. Now if this correct the city will have to be evacuated, because if this is what I think I am seeing here, and this is YAHWEH's arm, well you won't be in Washington when that thing comes ashore. Another possibility is that it could go to Eden. However Eden has already done quite well as far as rain goes for this month. By the way, speaking of out of season weather, Eden (or the Sahara as you people call it) is officially in its dry season since April, or so they say, so that hurricane is not the only 'out of season' weather phenomena we see this spring. Last year it was bone dry in Eden, it just being a regular dry season after all, so what we have here are two very bizarre examples of out of season weather.
I have a second concern. In another ususual development there is a tongue of extremely warm water leading up from the Caribbean where this storm is brewing, along the American coast up to the Washington, D.C. area, as illustrated on the map below. This suggests that a fierce storm could get fierce, travel up the coast and stay fierce all the way to Washington, D.C. Given the out of season weather we have been seeing this spring, and now this out of season tongue of extremely warm water, it suggests to me that we can pretty well guess where that hurricane is heading, and just how nasty it is going to be.

Caribbean storm intrigues forecasters By Melissa Sugarman CNN MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Forecasters Thursday were eyeing the beginnings of what could become an unusual out-of-season tropical storm ... Computer models indicated the system would turn more north-northwest over the weekend. "The biggest problem with this storm right now is it's in a very weak area for movement but it's in a favorable area for development, so we're not really sure just yet which way it wants to go," said CNN International Meteorologist Ken Wood. The official hurricane season marks the most active period for tropical systems to form in the Atlantic or Caribbean, and though out-of-season storms are unusual, they are not impossible, said Wood. "We don't normally in this time of year have hurricanes or any type of tropical formation form in the Caribbean," he said. In the past week, the Caribbean has had very little cloud cover, allowing the waters to warm -- a major ingredient for tropical storms, Wood said.
Jeremiah 23
19 "Behold, the storm of YAHWEH has gone forth in wrath, Even a whirling tempest; It will swirl down on the head of the wicked.
20 "The anger of YAHWEH will not turn back Until God has performed and carried out the purposes of God's heart; In the last days you will clearly understand it.
