Iran wakes up and smells the coffee

After trying appeasement for over a year, the government of Iran begins to show signs that are expecting to be next in line after the other 'axis of evil' country, Iraq, gets polished off...

News wires such as the Tehran Times and the IRNA site give the propaganda point of view of the government in Iran. For the longest time these news wires called for 'a war against terrorism' (following the the Bush propaganda line) while typically calling for the war against terrorism to be led by the United Nations. As well reports have circulated that in addition to towing the Washington line on the propaganda front, the government in Tehran also signed secret agreements with Washington allowing use of Iranian air space during the war against Iraq and allowing troubled air craft to take refuge in Iran. The Iranian news wire also made much of the expulsion of 'Taliban' from Iran and their deportation to Afghanistan.

Now we know that the Afghanistan war was planned in the spring of 2001 and that Colin Powell was already building the coalition for the war in the region during the summer of 2001. The war in Afghanistan made cynical use of the events on September 11th (and thus is a fine example of the way the Bush administration concocts propaganda bullshit to justify its policies). The war against Afghanistan and the concurrent stationing of United States armed forces in the southern Caspian region of the former Soviet Union in such countries as Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were the fulfillment of the plans detailed in the Project for a New American Century in the document entitled 'Rebuilding America's Defences' The authors of the report state that their objective in writing the document was to formalize the thinking of Dick Cheney. The document advocates the policy of pre-emptive war, and thus this policy is best described as the 'Cheney Doctrine' and not the 'Bush doctrine.' The document states that as the first move in establishing global hegemony, Iraq, Iran, and North Korea must be dealt with (later labelled as the 'axis of evil' by George Bush). The plan calls for the occupation by American military forces of the countries around the Caspian sea basin, and this was also carried out under the cover of the war against terrorism waged against Afghanistan. As Cheney put it in 1998, the Caspian sea region, with the largest untapped oil reserves on earth, was the most strategically important region on the face of the earth, and in the document 'Rebuilding America's Defenses', which the authors claim is the formal working out of the thoughts of Dick Cheney, the claim is made that whoever controls the Caspain sea region 'controls the world'. Cheney also called for re-establishment of American presence lost when the United States was kicked out of a naval base in the Phillipines, and now in the coming weeks American troops will be committed to combat operations in the Phillipines, and once again will be stationed in the country.

Events are unfolding just as Dick Cheney planned, with the exception that if you read the project report, you will note that the authors state that there has never been a better time for America to establish global domination for the economy is booming, with huge surpluses projected for years into the future. Keep in mind that this was written in the year 2000, while companies had actually been cooking the books to hide their losses and preserve what was actually a stock market bubble, and you can see that things have not worked out exactly as Cheney had planned. The document acknowledges that the cost of establishing this Global empire will be enormous, and then flips off the concern by insisting that even though it will be hugely expensive and that it is unlikely that other countries will want to share in the cost of establishing imperial rule by America, that nevertheless it must be done since it is supposed to be some kind of moral duty. The huge surpluses Cheney foresaw as the means of financing this adventure have gone up in smoke as the economy heads down the crapper. Nevertheless, the administration persists in carrying out the plan for the New American Century, and are putting the huge expense on the countries Visa card.

Notice that I say 'Dick Cheney wants this' and 'Cheney thinks this or that' since this American adventure is the Cheney Doctrine, and as for Bush, well he functions as some kind of strange front man for it all, having contributed nothing worthy of note to the strategic plan. In a strange way the president is Cheney while Bush is actually a kind of side kick, or so it would seem when you compare the events unfolding with the elucidation of the Cheney doctrines, encapsulated in the Project for the New American Century.

Now given the systematic way that the corpses of the 9-11 victims are being cynically exploited to bring Cheney's plans to fruition, it would seem that the regime in Iran has finally begun to realize the awful truth, for as it states in the Grand Design, before American Empire is established on earth, at the very beginning, and with very little delay it will be neccessary to deal with Iraq, Iran, and North Korea, the three prime targets of Dick Cheney. The document is insistent that these three countries be promptly dealt with at the very start of the adventure, which explains why the Bush administration is in such a shit tied up hurry to conquer Iraq, and thus stay on plan.

And that plan would indicate that Iran is next in line, and a real change in the tone and subject matter of Iranian propaganda in recent weeks shows that the startling realization has finally entered the minds of the regime in Tehran. Gone is the appeasement of the past, and lately one begins to detect a note of alarm and subsequent reaction in Iranian propaganda.

One particularly strange example, was the story planted on the Tehran times newswire several days ago which made the claim that the Iranian Jet that crashed about a week ago was 'destroyed by al Queda terrorists' on the orders of Osama bin Laden. This fantastic sounding story did not catch fire with the major media in the West that I noticed. Here we see a rather strange attempt being made to portray Iran as a fellow victim of al Queda and bin Laden, and in every bit as sorry a shape as say, New York City. The typical explanation one will hear from outside the country is that Iranian jets are in a pretty bad state of repair, which was more than likely the cause of the crash.

In the last week a peculiar story appeared in which the Iranian clerical leader extolled martyrdom during time of war as being the most glorious thing anyone could do for their country. Today another strange story has appeared on the wire which claims that Iran is one of the world's principle victims of 'weapons of mass destruction'. There is no doubt that the death toll suffered by Iranian conscripts who were gassed by Iraqi forces was extremely high, and the regime in Iran wants to remind everyone of this fact, in particular now that they are waking up and smelling the coffee, and feel Dick Cheney's hot breath down their necks. (Iran will be surrounded on all four sides by American forces if the Americans occupy Iraq, and then the plan calls for Iran to be knocked off as well. It was not for nothing that Bush referred to Iraq, Iran, and North Korea as 'the axis of evil'. North Korea has been wide awake for some time, last week threatening the world with Nuclear War, then making the claim that they would nuke the United States and emerge victorious in the conflict, and then this weeks aggressive firing of missiles into the ocean. What is happening in Iran now is a belated example of the same sort of alarm developing in the regime.

Further down the wire is an alarmist story that claims that Israel is pressuring the United States to make sure Iran takes a bullet after Saddam is knocked off. Then in another story we are told that Iran is threatening to cut off all diplomatic ties with Argentina if the government does not halt a propaganda campaign in Argentinian newspapers that suggests that Iran was behind the bombing of Jewish building in Argentina many years back. The Iranians are suggesting that the newspapers are dredging up this story at the instigation of the Israelis as part of a strategy by the hawkish regime of Sharon to prepare the propaganda campaign that will need to be mounted to support the invasion of Iran following the conquest of Iraq. The timing is certainly peculiar, and no doubt not a coincidence, and the regime in Iran is showing extraordinary sensitivity to signs of the Jewish lobby already kicking into gear a campaign for the invasion of Iran. Given that the Project for a New American century is strongly pro-Zionist and supports totally the territorial ambitions of the Sharon regime, and calls for a lop sided position entirely pro-Israeli position in the Middle East conflict, one can understand the alarm bells going off in Tehran. After over a year of appeasement and apparent sleep walking the blinkers have come off in Tehran, just as they have in North Korea, and this is certainly becoming evident as I continue to examine the propaganda line coming out of Tehran via the Iranian news wires.

You know that Hitler wrote down his whole strategy in that book of his, including the bit about capturing Russian and using Russians as slaves in a great empire. No one believed it. It was just that audacious. A similar mistake is being made today in that no one believes that Dick Cheney is damned serious about all that stuff recorded in the New American Century document on Rebuilding America's Defenses. But as you can see by the war on Iraq, the occupation of Afghanistan and the stationing of troops in the Caspian nations, and the re-entry of American forces in the Phillipines, Cheney is DAMNED SERIOUS and the regime in Iran is finally beginning to understand this. The close correlation between what is happening in the world and the world as it exists in the mind of Dick Cheney, revealed in the document which purportedly formalizes his doctrines, is not a coincidence, and as for 9-11, it is being cynically manipulated and exploited, for as the document states the process of molding the world in the image of Dick Cheney would likely take a hell of a long time, unless of course another Pearl Harbor took place (see page 51 of the pdf file)
