I discovered an interesting site where people share emails with each other, E-Groups - free easy email groups. This one way to send emails on a certain topic to thousands of people at one time, without 'spamming', the only strict rule that they have is that you stay on topic. I won't bother listing the groups I joined, except to note that they usually are UFO groups, or groups that discuss angels or house hauntings, paranormal occurences, or spiritual groups with a broad and accepting perspective. I do not bother to join Bible or Christian groups because that would be a good way for me to get reported to E-Groups HQ as a badly behaved spammer. In all my attempts on the net I have been consistently kicked off anything that says 'Bible' or 'Christian' and after that experience I don't even bother anymore, and now pursue my alternate strategy of talking to the next door neighbours of those churches instead.

Now out of all those emails that went out to the groups I joined, I got just one response so far, which came in this morning...

Hi I'm collecting miracle stories for a class project. I'd like your permission to include your UFO/angel sighting story. Thanks for your time...

Not a problem. While she is at it, I hope she also gives her classmates an opportunity to be enlightened about the fine art of Biblical analysis. Also if there is anyone out there who wants to mirror something on this site, that is fine with me, if you will kindly link back.

My site seems to generate mixed responses. I get really generous responses, and at the same time I get some really strange responses. For example, while I am out surfing UFO and ghost type sites and angel sites, etc., I usually sign the guest book, or drop off a quick 3 or 4 line email mentioning my site. A few days or a week or two later, I will surf back to that same site, only to find that they shut it down. I have also found that a bunch of web rings shut down shortly after I applied. Whether or not this is a coincidence or this is just something about my site that makes some people want to throw in the towel and shut down, I don't know.

If you are Canadian, you might (and I say might) have noticed that I placed classified ads in major daily newspapers in the Saturday and Sunday editions this weekend. After reflecting on the matter, I have decided to abandon this classified ad policy in the future, as there are so many classifieds, and the papers only last for a day, and then get tossed, so if you are not noticed right away you aren't noticed at all. I won't be able to tell how much traffic those ads might have generated to my site until I get a look at log file that details activity this weekend. But even if those classified were not noticed by many people, I am sure that some people noticed them, and thus it is possible that I might still be able to generate a little buzz in the future. I have since adjusted my strategy in line with the thinking that you get what you pay for... More on that later... It's nice to see that someone signed into my message board, and I hope you found my site through one of my ads, thus making that experimental expenditure worth my while.

After spending the last month working on nothing but 'site promotion', studying at Search Engine Watch, and exploring various options, I have finally decided that it is time to get back to work on expanding this site. Right now I am working on a piece tentatively titled, 'The Story of Judas and other urban legends in the gospels'. After being provoked over the last week by attacks on the Buddha, in particular having heard the Buddha described as an 'occult Satanist', I am also going to begin posting pieces on Buddhism, and hope to post something intelligent comparing similarities in Buddhist thought and certain schools of thought in the church testament. Every since I made some comments a couple of weeks in defence of Buddha and Bhuddism, I have noticed several attacks being launched against Buddhism on the Christian internet, just in the last week alone (they are very reactionary) and the Buddha was called an 'occult Satanist' on a Canadian program known as Huntley Street last Thursday night. I have some books on Buddhism but I prefer myself to work with original sources so I also have "The Connected Discourses of the Buddha" by Bhikkhu Bodhi, a mammoth encyclopedia of a book with an interesting topical arrangement. On my site I tell the story of how when I was twelve I had a strange 'mystical' announcement experience that informed me that my grandfather had died. This spurred an interest in old religious texts and ancient mythology, and after doing some investigation, I finally decided that Buddhism made the most sense (the Bible was so violent and contained things that so offended me that I threw it hard against the wall. I still have that battered old Bible with the broken spine.) I found that reading some of those old Buddhist texts was like being struck by lightning, and I really don't appreciate hearing the Buddha described as an 'occult Satanist' and I am going to do something about it.

Someone sent me the following email:

If you don't mind I will share my experience of July 1998 with you. I too, prayed to God to explain a dream that I had and to show me if UFOs and aliens were real. Like Zechariah Sitchin, My interest in Genesis 6 was almost obsessive. I also asked God to show me if the ufos were manmade or alien made. So far, my answers are: ufos are ancient. Religion is manmade, Spirituality is God made. He also only gives us what we are able to understand because the Holy Spirit is a gentleman, but is always excited when a human wants to know what is beyond, for therein lies our future. Time is short and getting shorter; we are due for a change in circumstances because of the "system" of economics we are forced to live under takes precedence over God's plan for humanity and He is not a God who takes kindly to fourth place. Hence, the Roar you experienced, and the precepice that I live on. I believe you are a called prophet. You must be. See how people are scared of you? This is a good thing, not a bad thing. A prophet will never be honored in his own country, but the internet knows no country, so you will find many people who will support you.

I have to agree that someone like me is bound to be divisive (people both for and against me), but as I have already found out, the Internet is a really big place, and I have already received much generous support from many people out there who are very open minded, obviously, having liked to my site and sent supportive emails. As for scaring people, I certainly hope not, but that's possible. I haven't seen a log file for the last month to see how many hits my site has generated, but I am convinced that I get many more hits than I get emails, and maybe people are spooked by me. I don't intend it that way, and I think, my struggle with the pulpits aside, that my experience has been a wonderful experience and I would love to share that part of it with anybody. It's a wonderful universe will live in, it turns out to be a fascinating place, but this planet, Earth, is just what we make of it, is it not? As for truth, I urge people to be objective when it is possible to be objective, and I also urge people not to hide uncomfortable facts. This aspect of the human personality is something I have a hard time comprehending, but I think it can be explained in many different ways. People are afraid, so they block things out. Or people can be dogmatic, so they oppress things that they don't want to hear about, or that don't fit into their particular view of the world. To me this is all wonderful news and a wonderful thing to see and experience, and really, it should be shouted from the roof tops. You are not completely forgotten. You are not completely alone. Now try not to forget. Be brave. The righteous will live by faith!

By the way, I thought I would mirror something I mentioned on the message board. Next spring or summer, I would like to spend some time at the lake with some potential 'disciples'. This would be a great opportunity to see some angels and their crafts, thus firing a person up as I am fired up, to announce these matters from the rooftops. (Nothing is currently hidden, that will not be revealed.) I use the term 'disciple' because I feel that once you see something like that, it requires something from a person. There is another saying that springs to mind, 'with great privelege comes even greater responsiblity.' (So no curiosity seekers please. Just 'disciples'.) To me seeing something like this, and becoming aware of the truth, and then hiding the truth, is damaging to the human personality (it can only bring a sense of conviction and guilt, for not doing what is right). I will wait to see if I was sorry I ever brought it up (no curiosity seekers please. Just 'disciples'. Amd keep in mind that I am follower of Yahweh and Joshua, alright.) As I mentioned on my story page, I have done this before and have been disappointed with the results. Any emails people want to send me describing the kinds of emotions something like this stirs up in people would be appreciated, because I have a hard time figuring out why people 'suppress' such knowledge and then try their hardest to forget about it. I don't understand. Maybe it just scares the living daylights out of them (they thought it was a game, and then all it took was one good long look, and something changed). Personally, I don't think it is 'scary', I think it is liberating, awe inspiring, life giving, and wonderfully good and interesting news. But as I said, other people have seemed to have experienced it differently, thus causing me to wonder what's going on...

And speaking of being 'brave' keep those emails coming folks, and tell a friend would you!
