Eden Watch (From May 10th)

Remnants of a tropical storm over Saudi Desert, May 10, 2002

Remnants of large Eden Storm, May 10, 2002
As for things of great interest at the moment, the most interesting looking activity appears to be in the West, where I have been watching activity over the jungles of South America

Animation reveals a 'revolving system' connecting the continents of Africa and South America, with water vapor crossing the ocean, entering the Amazon, 'mixing' and then being expelled out over the ocean in the form of a large cloud bank...See the first diagram in the sequence below. The Water vapor image and infra-red cloud image immediately below show this cloud and water vapor off the western most part of Eden today. Such a system might be carrying air borne seeds between the two continents, and given the heavy 'mixing' that took place over the Amazon before this cloud was expelled, that is something that is beginning to seem more credible to me.) Two more tropical storms have also formed in the Indian Ocean, but at the present are far from the area of interest, leaving the most interesting events to be observed in the West.

In the future I plan to start updating the Eden watch page on this site perhaps once a week, but at the moment, I am finding it fascinating to watch what is taking place. Areas of interest. A cloud which was pushed out from South America is now crossing into the West Coast of Eden, and simulataneously a cloud bank is forming and moving up the center as well as a second smaller cloud bank, forming in the South East. The four set sequence shows this cloud forming and then getting pushed east ward, as revealed in animated sequences, and the lower shot of Eden shows the cloud banks forming in the Water vapor part of the spectrum. The next photos below this show the 'cloud heights' and the images are seperated by 6 hours. These sequential images show a rapidly developing storm system composed of thunderclouds from 10 to over 12 kilometers in height, and also show the thunderstorm system moving in from the West...
