Surge of recent quakes puzzles scientists : SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. April 18, 2002 (AP) - Scientists say they aren't sure whether a surge of
recent quakes, including one that hit Thursday morning north of San Francisco, is good
news or bad for the Bay Area ... Some say the small temblors could be a precursor to an upcoming major quake, while
others claim the quakes could relieve some of the strain and actually delay the inevitable
monster quake ... we can't tell from the recent quakes in the
North Bay whether the stresses are building up, or whether they're being relieved," said
geologist David Schwartz of the U.S. Geological Survey ...
Meanwhile, the earth keeps shaking ... Ninety percent of California buildings do not fully meet current standards for seismic
safety design, according to Chris Poland, the institute's president."
SEISMOLOGISTS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN EARTHQUAKE ON US NORTH-EAST COAST Experts in the United States say they have no clear explanation for today's earthquake on the north-east coast, which registered five-point-one on the Richter Scale.
The US Geological Survey says the quake struck near the Canadian and US border and was strong enough to cause major damage, had the area been heavily populated.
New York State seismologist Frank Revetta says it's only 20 years since the last reasonably strong earthquake in the north-east of the US, but the cause of them is a mystery.
"There aren't any major fault lines here like you have with Calfornia, that the earthquakes occur along. Up here, the earthquakes are diffuse in the area and they don't line up along any particular fault."

What makes this quake data significant is that normally you would expect to see '2s' and not all these disturbing '3s' and you never see '4s' and '5s' clustered over such a short time period...As well the quakes seem to be getting more severe as times goes on...
Isaiah 64:3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains quaked at thy presence.
From of old no one has heard or perceived by the ear, no eye has seen a God besides thee, who works for those who wait for you.
Isiah 29:6 Suddenly you will be visited by YAHWEH of hosts with thunder and with earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.
And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Eden, all that fight against her and her stronghold and distress her, shall be like a dream, a vision of the night.
As when a hungry man dreams he is eating and awakes with his hunger not satisfied, or as when a thirsty man dreams he is drinking and awakes faint, with his thirst not quenched, so shall the multitude of all the nations be that fight against the mountain of Eden.
Stupefy yourselves and be in a stupor, blind yourselves and be blind! Be drunk, but not with wine; stagger, but not with strong drink!
For YAHWEH has poured out upon you a spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes, the prophets, and covered your heads, the seers.
