As you will notice in the Water Vapor image below (there is also an interesting vortex off the coast of Africa.) In the Water Vapor video you will notice that the smaller vortex became engulfed in the more powerful low pressure system, leaving just one. Each evening, as you will be able to tell by watching the Infrared videos, clouds form as the heat of the day pushes the water vapor into the air, which then forms clouds in the coolness of the evening.
Early evening, June 2, 2001, Water Vapor imagery over the Sahara...
According to the 6 day forecast a low pressure is supposed to span the entire midsection of the desert by next weekened, and hopefully, if you would like to see Eden, that will happen.
The first image below shows the Totals-Totals Index and the CAPE values as of Pentecost. Note that dark colors are better and the higher numbers are better. The second image shows vertical velocity and accumulated precipitation. Note that in vertical vorticity the lower the negative number the better. Everything of interest has been taking place in the Western part of the desert. What you see in the charts always seems to correspond to what you see in the water vapor imagery, and so I post the water vapor picture below...
