Eden Storm Prophecies

Jewish prophecy describing rain, hail, whirlwinds, and storms
at the time of YAHWEH's return

On my Garden of Eden watch page I have gathered together all the prophecies describing the return of rains to the desert at the time of the return of YAHWEH. The following are all the passages describing rain, storms, whirlwinds, and hail as describing the wrath of YAHWEH in Jewish prophecy...

Isaiah 10

1 Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees, and the writers who keep writing oppression,
2 to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right, that widows may be their spoil, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!
3 What will you do on the day of punishment, in the storm which will come from afar? To whom will you flee for help, and where will you leave your wealth?
4 Nothing remains but to crouch among the prisoners or fall among the slain. For all this anger is not turned away and Yahweh's hand is stretched out still.

Isaiah 17

10 For you have forgotten the God of your salvation, and have not remembered the Rock of your refuge; therefore, though you plant pleasant plants and set out slips of an alien god,
11 though you make them grow on the day that you plant them, and make them blossom in the morning that you sow; yet the harvest will flee away in a day of grief and incurable pain.
12 ¶ Ah, the thunder of many peoples, they thunder like the thundering of the sea! Ah, the roar of nations, they roar like the roaring of mighty waters!
13 The nations roar like the roaring of many waters, but Yahweh will rebuke them, and they will flee far away, chased like chaff on the mountains before the wind and whirling dust before the storm.
14 At evening time, behold, terror! Before morning, they are no more! This is the portion of those who despoil us, and the lot of those who plunder us.

Isaiah 28

Isaiah 28 1 Woe to the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of its glorious beauty, which is on the head of the rich valley of those overcome with wine!
2 Behold, YAHWEH has one who is mighty and strong; like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest, like a storm of mighty, overflowing waters, Yahweh will cast down to the earth with violence.
3 The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden under foot;
4 and the fading flower of its glorious beauty, which is on the head of the rich valley, will be like a first-ripe fig before the summer: when a man sees it, he eats it up as soon as it is in his hand.
5 In that day YAHWEH of hosts will be a crown of glory, and a diadem of beauty, to the remnant of the people;
6 and a spirit of justice to the one who sits in judgment, and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
7 These also reel with wine and stagger with strong drink; the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, they are confused with wine, they stagger with strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in giving judgment.
8 For all tables are full of vomit, no place is without filthiness.
9 "Whom will Yahweh teach knowledge, and to whom will Yahweh explain the message? Those who are weaned from the milk, those taken from the breast?
10 For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little."
11 Nay, but by men of strange lips and with an alien tongue YAHWEH will speak to this people,
12 to whom YAHWEH has said, "This is rest; give rest to the weary; and this is repose"; yet they would not hear.
13 Therefore the word of YAHWEH will be to them precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken. 14 Therefore hear the word of YAHWEH, you scoffers, who rule this people in Jerusalem!
15 Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we have an agreement; when the overwhelming scourge passes through it will not come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter"; 16 therefore thus says YAHWEH GOD, "Behold, I am laying in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: ‘He who believes will not be in haste.’
17 And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plummet; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the shelter."
18 Then your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through you will be beaten down by it.
19 As often as it passes through it will take you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be sheer terror to understand the message.
20 For the bed is too short to stretch oneself on it, and the covering too narrow to wrap oneself in it.
21 For YAHWEH will rise up as on Mount Perazim, YAHWEH will be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon; to do the deed—strange is the deed! and to work the work—alien is the work!

Isaiah 29

5 But the multitude of your foes shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the ruthless like passing chaff. And in an instant, suddenly,
6 you will be visited by YAHWEH of hosts with thunder and with earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire.

Isaiah 30

27 Behold, the name of YAHWEH comes from far, burning with anger, and in thick rising smoke; with lips are full of indignation, and a tongue like a devouring fire;
28 with breath is like an overflowing stream that reaches up to the neck; to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction, and to place on the jaws of the peoples a bridle that leads astray.
29 You shall have a song as in the night when a holy feast is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one sets out to the sound of the flute to go to the mountain of YAHWEH, to the Rock of Israel.
30 And YAHWEH will cause GOD's majestic voice to be heard and the descending blow of GOD's arm to be seen, in furious anger and a flame of devouring fire, with a cloudburst and tempest and hailstones.

Jeremiah 4

11 At that time it will be said to this people and to Jerusalem, "A hot wind from the bare heights in the desert toward the daughter of my people, not to winnow or cleanse,
12 a wind too full for this comes for me. Now it is I who speak in judgment upon them."
13 Behold, Yahweh comes up like clouds, with chariots like the whirlwind; with horses swifter than eagles—woe to us, for we are ruined!
14 O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?

Jeremiah 23

16 Thus says YAHWEH of hosts: "Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes; they speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of YAHWEH.
17 They say continually to those who despise the word of YAHWEH, ‘It shall be well with you’; and to every one who stubbornly follows their own heart, they say, ‘No evil shall come upon you.’"
18 For who among them has stood in the council of YAHWEH to perceive and to hear GOD's word, or who has given heed to the word and listened?
19 Behold, the storm of YAHWEH! Wrath has gone forth, a whirling tempest; it will burst upon the head of the wicked.
20 The anger of YAHWEH will not turn back until YAHWEH has executed and accomplished the intents of GOD's mind. In the latter days you will understand it clearly.
21 "I did not send the prophets, yet they ran; I did not speak to them, yet they prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in my council, then they would have proclaimed my words to my people, and they would have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
23 "Am I a God at hand, says YAHWEH, and not a God afar off?
24 Can any person hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? says YAHWEH. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says YAHWEH.

Jeremiah 30

21 Their prince shall be one of themselves, their ruler shall come forth from their midst; I will make their ruler draw near to approach me, for who would dare of themselves to approach me? says YAHWEH.
22 And you shall be my people, and I will be your God."
23 Behold the storm of YAHWEH! Wrath has gone forth, a whirling tempest; it will burst upon the head of the wicked.
24 The fierce anger of YAHWEH will not turn back until Yahweh has executed and accomplished the intents of GOD's mind. In the latter days you will understand this.

Ezekiel 13

3 Thus says YAHWEH GOD, Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!
4 Your prophets have been like foxes among ruins, O Israel.
5 You have not gone up into the breaches, or built up a wall for the house of Israel, that it might stand in battle in the day of YAHWEH.
6 They have spoken falsehood and divined a lie; they say, ‘Says YAHWEH,’ when YAHWEH has not sent them, and yet they expect Yahweh to fulfil their word.
7 Have you not seen a delusive vision, and uttered a lying divination, whenever you have said, ‘Says YAHWEH,’ although I have not spoken?"
8 Therefore thus says YAHWEH God: "Because you have uttered delusions and seen lies, therefore behold, I am against you, says YAHWEH GOD.
9 My hand will be against the prophets who see delusive visions and who give lying divinations; they shall not be in the council of my people, nor be enrolled in the register of the house of Israel, nor shall they enter the land of Israel; and you shall know that I am YAHWEH GOD.
10 ¶ Because, yea, because they have misled my people, saying, ‘Peace,’ when there is no peace; and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets daub it with whitewash;
11 say to those who daub it with whitewash that it shall fall! There will be a deluge of rain, great hailstones will fall, and a stormy wind break out;
12 and when the wall falls, will it not be said to you, ‘Where is the daubing with which you daubed it?’
13 Therefore thus says YAHWEH GOD: I will make a stormy wind break out in my wrath; and there shall be a deluge of rain in my anger, and great hailstones in wrath to destroy it.
14 And I will break down the wall that you have daubed with whitewash, and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation will be laid bare; when it falls, you shall perish in the midst of it; and you shall know that I am YAHWEH.
15 Thus will I spend my wrath upon the wall, and upon those who have daubed it with whitewash; and I will say to you, The wall is no more, nor those who daubed it,
16 the prophets of Israel who prophesied concerning Jerusalem and saw visions of peace for her, when there was no peace, says YAHWEH GOD.

Hosea 10

15 Thus it shall be done to you, O house of Israel, because of your great wickedness. In the storm the king of Israel shall be utterly cut off.

Nahum 1

2 YAHWEH is a jealous God and avenging, YAHWEH is avenging and wrathful; YAHWEH takes vengeance on adversaries and keeps wrath for GOD's enemies.
3 YAHWEH is slow to anger and of great might, and YAHWEH will by no means clear the guilty. GOD's way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of GOD's feet.
4 Yahweh rebukes the sea and makes it dry, Yahweh dries up all the rivers; Bashan and Carmel wither, the bloom of Lebanon fades.
5 The mountains quake before Yahweh, the hills melt; the earth is laid waste, the world and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before GOD's indignation? Who can endure the heat of GOD's anger, when wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder?
7 YAHWEH is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and knows those who take refuge in GOD.
8 But with an overflowing flood Yahweh will make a full end of adversaries, and will pursue all enemies into darkness.
9 ¶ What do you plot against YAHWEH? GOD will make a full end will not take vengeance twice on foes.
10 Like entangled thorns they are consumed, like dry stubble.
11 Did one not come out from you, who plotted evil against YAHWEH, and counseled villainy?
12 Thus says YAHWEH, "Though they be strong and many, they will be cut off and pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.
13 And now I will break his yoke from off you and will burst your bonds asunder."
14 YAHWEH has given commandment about you: "No more shall your name be perpetuated; from the house of your gods I will cut off the graven image and the molten image. I will make your grave, for you are vile."
15 Behold, on the mountains the feet of the one who brings good tidings, who proclaims peace! Keep your feasts, O Judah, fulfil your vows, for never again shall the wicked come against you, he is utterly cut off.

Zechariah 10

1 Ask rain from YAHWEH in the season of the spring rain, from YAHWEH who makes the storm clouds, who gives men showers of rain, to every one the vegetation in the field.
2 For the teraphim utter nonsense, and the diviners see lies; the dreamers tell false dreams, and give empty consolation. Therefore the people wander like sheep; they are afflicted for want of a shepherd.
3 "My anger is hot against the shepherds, and I will punish the leaders; for YAHWEH of hosts cares for the flock, the house of Judah, and will make them like the proud steed in battle.
4 Out of them shall come the cornerstone, out of them the tent peg, out of them the battle bow, out of them every ruler.
5 ¶ Together they shall be like mighty men in battle, trampling the foe in the mud of the streets; they shall fight because YAHWEH is with them, and they shall confound the riders on horses.

Matthew 7

Matthew 7 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’
23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’
24 "Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise person who built a house upon the rock;
25 and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
26 And every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish person who built a house upon the sand;
27 and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it."
