Previous animations are below...

If you need a copy of real player visit their download page (Note you can buy the full version or find the link to the free stripped down version). Note that the Windows media files should play on an Apple Mac Quicktime player...

The following videos show both cloud activity and water vapor activity over the Sahara beginning on the day of Shauvot (May 28th, 2001) (the Jewish version of Pentecost - if you check out the pages on my Eden Watch index page, you will see that there was some activity on the Sahara at the beginning of May, and then things went dead until Shauvot when things started becoming active again, and have remained active). You can 'right click' the links and choose 'save link as' or 'save target as' to download and save linked files to your computer. When you click the Windows media link on your computer this will bring up windows media player and you can then right click on the picture and choose zoom to increase the viewing area (instead of having a tiny picture in the corner of your browser...You can zoom the Quicktime player from the file menu...) The animations were made using Mainactor Video Software.

The movies cover the period to September 2nd, 2001

Summer is over, harvest is passed, and we are not saved ... Some prophecies from Jeremiah ...

You can watch daily movies of the Sahara by following one of these two links -

http://www.sat.dundee.ac.uk/movie.html - usually about 200 KB (an mpeg file) ... it seems to cover a period of about a week or two

You can download a daily montage here -> http://sunba2.ba.infn.it/text/meteo_page.html and you can also find a daily animation (about 300 KB) by following this link to the Meteosat archive or find the movie directly here (mpeg) -> Meteosat D2 daily mpeg

Visible Sahara movie

After several months you can begin to see areas on the Sahara beginning to darken, indicating the presence of new vegetation. The Sahara is not yet a full fledged garden, however if you watch one area at at time closely throughout the video you will notice the darkening beginning to take place. This is most noticeable in the center of the desert, which as the videos show, received the most rain. Their seems to be some darkening in other areas as well, however with the inconsistencies in contrast and brightness from one image to another on the public sattelite archives, and the lossy compression of j-pegs it can hard to discern with complete certainty at this early stage. The effect is more subtle in the Windows Media Version of the file, than it is on the compressed Real Media file...
