The Final Prophecy : The Wrath of YAHWEH (continued)

In my previous piece on this subject I felt the need to make a polemical point through imitation and allusion to the prophetic voice of ancient prophets of Israel. However I have felt troubled and have felt the need to say more, and so this time I thought I would write more, only this time I would write using my own voice, and perhaps I can satisfy myself that I have said those things that I feel need to be said.

The first problem that I encounter has to do with my choice of topic. What can be said to this generation? They have ears, but they cannot hear, and they have eyes, but they cannot see. What purpose could be served then by talking to such a people as these people. They will not hear it, and though they listen, they will never understand. They have become a faithless and ungodly people, this being the end product of generations of bitter experience, the experience of exile and separation. They may see much, but they never comprehend.

Israel

Perhaps the worst of all these nations is Israel. It was said of her, ‘here are the people of God', but as we have seen, she was dragged off like sheep are dragged off to the slaughter house, and she had no deliverer. Therefore, might not the nations inquire about her, and ask, ‘Oh, Israel, where is your God?'

Now look at her, and see what she has become. She has become that abhorrent, festering sore which oozes violent injustice and all the oppression which so shocks the people of good will who have the understanding to see clearly and thus understand what she is doing. She is Israel, and she has no deliverer, and she knows it. She now worships a god of fortresses. She huddles behind her walls, and hurls missiles and bombs. From her turrets she fires machine guns. She says, ‘let us build planes. Let us ride in armored tanks. Let us build nuclear bombs and missiles and rockets. In armed forces we trust.'

She has been stripped as naked as a new born and left kicking and squalling in a puddle of her own blood in the full sight of all the nations of the world. Why, then, does she continue to speak lies and spread falsehoods? She says, ‘I am Israel. God is with me.' But is it not obvious that she has no god, and that her god has abandoned her. She is Israel, and she has no deliverer, and the whole world knows this. Why does she persist in speaking falsehoods? Who could possibly believe her deceptions?

She has become completely godless, and her monstrous deeds testify against her. Her hands are soaked in blood and oppression is found within her. Like a pot of simmering water she keeps her wickedness at a boil. She has faith in her missiles and her rocket launchers, and she places great confidence in armor, but for God she has no regard whatsoever. She knows better than to place her trust in the power of the mighty arm of God. She is divorced, and her husband has left her and she knows it. Why does she insist on repeating her lies, saying, ‘God is with me, and it is God who has given me the right to do these things, in fulfilment of the promise of our wedding vows.' Yet as we all know she has been put to the sword and they have all submitted to slaughter. Who could believe her deceitful words or place any confidence in her boastful claims. She is Israel, and she is divorced. She has no husband, and the whole world can see this. She is Israel and she has no god. There is no one to care for her, no one to inquire as to her well being, no one to tend to her wounds. She has no defender. She is Israel and she has no deliverer, and the whole world can see this to be true. Why does she persist in telling her deceitful lies?

She is Israel and she has no god, but she does have an idol, that ancient idol. Now that this thing is an idol should now be obvious to the whole world. What is an idol. Call it a block of wood. It has a mouth, but it does not speak. It has arms, but it does nothing. It cannot move. It cannot deliver anyone, nor can it save. No one can place there trust in an idol, and Israel knows this. For this reason she keeps her idol, but she places her trust in bombs and bullets and in the bloodshed and the violent oppression for which she has become so infamous.

Yes, she is to shrewd, to intelligent, to place her trust in some worthless idol, but still she keeps her idol. As her leaders understand so well, everywhere in the world that her idol plants roots becomes a place which will then support her and all her really bad policies. Her leaders within her are cynical. They place no trust in idols themselves, as their reliance on bombs and missiles proves so very well. But still it is true that an idol has it uses as part of their geo-strategic plotting and her foreign policy maneuvering. The fact that her idol is like a venomous serpent that poisons to death everyone it bites does not concern them. That filthy idol of yours is malignant. This does not concern them. Let the people be poisoned, if that will further their political goals. Let her talk of gods and encourage the spread of that foul idol of hers if that will smooth the path shse is walking. That is how careless she has become.

That idol is malignant. Now of YAHWEH she knows nothing, nor does she remember, for she thinks to herself, ‘YAHWEH has forgotten. YAHWEH does not see. YAHWEH will do nothing, neither good nor bad.'

You foolish people. How terrible for you. Will you survive it? For as the flames consume the stubble, with nothing to stop the burning, leaving the earth scorched and burned so is the fury of the jealous wrath of YAHWEH, whom you have forgotten, and for whom you have no regard today..

This is all I can think of to say to a nation like Israel. She is Israel, and she has no deliverer and she knows it. As a consequence of being handed over to slaughter she has become that lawless thing we are all so familiar with today. She has become Israel, the most ungodly nation on the face of the earth. In spite of it all, she has learned nothing, and her idol still remains. She continues to rely upon that idol, her idol of genocidal murder and theft, her god of plunder and pillage which her ancestors created. That idol is malignant. Even though the filthiness of that disgraceful thing is obvious to anyone who can read (or at least is should be) nevertheless it is printed a billion times and spreads among the nations of the world, so that now the whole world has become polluted by this ancient blasphemy. Her leaders are careless. Let the snake bite and let the nations be poisoned by its venom, for in every nation where that idol is allowed to take root there will be found mobs of people who will support her strategic ambitions and endorse her wicked policies..

You foolish people. Your idol is malignant. How terrible for you. Will you survive it? For as the flames consume the stubble, with nothing to stop the burning, leaving the earth scorched and burned in its wake, so, too, is the fury of the jealous wrath of YAHWEH, whom you have forgotten, and for whom you have no regard today.. You may not know YAHWEH today, you may forgotten, but you will very soon be brought into remembrance, as were your ancestors before you. How terrible for you, you foolish people. Will you survive it?

The Trifles

My hear melts within me like wax before the flame, for I have heard from YAHWEH of Hosts. My knees grow weak, and my heart fails within me. How dreadful, how terrible is the fierce anger of YAHWEH. Who can endure the wrath of my God? Who will remain standing on that day. What will become of their insolence on that day? Will they survive it? Who will speak to these people and who will give them warning? Their ears are closed. The Word of YAHWEH is like an offensive thing to them, and they have no regard for it. To whom can I speak and give warning. To whom has the arm of YAHWEH been revealed. They all go their own way like war horses charging into battle. No one can deter them from their course, nor can anyone speak to them so that they will listen and pay heed and hold the name of YAHWEH in remembrance. To them it is all a trifling matter and of very little concern. This foolish generation. How terrible for them. Will they survive it?

If anyone has ears to hear, then let them hear now. How weary I am of these people and their trifles. How they trifle. Do they know YAHWEH. Is there anyone here with understanding. If they understood then they would know enough to put aside their trifles, and yet it seems that they do not know, nor do they consider it all so as to understand what the end of it all will be. How humiliating for them. For as the flames burned high and the eruption was imminent, they carried on with their petty little trifles. Will they not be exposed as fools who understood nothing when that terrible day comes upon them. For while the flames were building up, becoming white hot, there they were, standing up in public to carry on with their petty little trifles. Will not people say of them, ‘how little they understood.' Will not people bring to remembrance those inconsequential trifles and say, ‘here is one who did not know God.'

Better for them if they would just shut up, for even a fool can seem wise if a fool knows enough to shut up and keep silent.

Does anyone roast marshmallows at the mouth of a raging blast furnace?

A word to you religious people who say prayers, and who report on the deeds and the word of knowledge you say you have received from YAHWEH of Hosts:

Do not bother YAHWEH God now with your petty little trifles. Better to keep silent, and stand far away from the mouth of that smoking oven. Show some common sense if you have any to show. If not then by all means carry on and be foolish and be exposed as a fool. The choice is yours. As for myself, I will speak only when spoken to, and I will keep silent and maintain my distance, for you see, I have some common sense, and I know therefore that when a pot is rising to the full boil that is not a time to go piddling about and creating a bother over some petty little trifle.

So then, as a favor to you religious people who say prayers and who seek this or that, or who proclaim a new ‘word of knowledge' I say these words as a favor to you, if you are someone who has ears to hear. My heart melts within me like wax, and my knees grow weak, for I have heard from YAHWEH of Hosts, and I report to you what I have heard. What we have here is a blazing fire, burning and smoking, a growing fury that will erupt and it will consume the earth and leave it scorched. Is such a thing a mere small trifling matter to you? By all means then disregard this warning, open your mouth, and show yourself a fool. Let the fools show themselves as foo ls, and let the wise shows themselves as possessing wisdom for they understood these things.
